James Piatt – Bag Mad!

Killer Bags

When surfing the internet, it is often you will find some very odd things. James Piatt is no different. Here is just six of his wacky bag collection which no doubt is causing a stir in the US as we speak. His designs are bonkers and a little aggressive however, good designers get nowhere with middle of the road ideas meaning a little bit of crazy can put you on the radar.

Piatt’s bags if nothing else are definite collectors items, from strange upside-down dogs to small machine guns, the bags will certainly set you apart from the masses.

Yuma Koshino @ Japan Fashion Week 2010

Yuma Koshino Au/Wi 2010

Japan hosted it’s brilliantly diverse Fashion Week last month. An array of very talented designers showcased their work at it’s capitol; Tokyo and one particular selection caught my eye for this Autumn/ Winter.

Yuma Koshino is a former graduate at Japan’s prestigious Bunka Fashion College. She has worked in France with Kenzo and Japan with visual companies, interior designers and graphic designers. It is fair to say that Koshino has a vast array of fashion knowledge. Her first collection was displayed way back in 1999, ten years later, her Au/Wi collection for 2010 is recognised as some of her best. A beautiful combination of comfort and pure style. Varying straight folds with clean cuts, Koshino’s work is a gorgeous menagerie of luscious material and innovative design.

In this collection colour is essential. Note how the garments all use colours synonymous with Autumn i.e. browns, greens, creams and blacks. Koshino has created a collection any budding female fashionista would be more than proud to wear. Very sexy, very wholesome and very different.

The Monday Mix-up

Punk over price

Ok, ok i will admit that this weeks Monday article is a little extravagant (and late I might add). However, the clothes are delicious. A gorgeous blend of black, grey and cream, the outfit is sexy, punk and pricey. Mixing Reiss with Bolongaro Trevor, the main body of the piece is very chic and a little different. I saw a lady sporting a similar design in London and took a mental note, she looked separate from her surroundings; very sexy.

To finish the look is a pair of very comfy moccasin boots from Minnetonka, a sharp, punky necklace from Dannijo and an incredible Lanvin snake skin shoulder bad, to die for. So splash the cash and look this good, please…

Friday, for him.

Soft blues and subtle browns

Sweeney and Smith = Perfection

This weeks edition is simple and inspired. I have been jostling frantically to and fro around London for the past week enjoying Spitalfield’s wonderful Alternative Fashion Week. Taking notes with my eyes, the men’s fashion seriously impressed me yet in particular, the models natural fashion style. Living in Plymouth restricts my options somewhat, London folk seem to just flow with fashion. So this weeks “Friday, for him” is a homage to Julius, Rayan, Dom and all the other posers i’ve been lucky enough to hang with this week. Very, very cool people.

The Monday Mix-up

Fresh looks.

Light, airy and easy going. That is this weeks looks summed up in five words. A gorgeous Acne dress combined with a pair of classy cork L’Autre Chose sandlas and a Topshop clutch. Perfect for a sunny day in the city, by the sea or by the night. Finish the look with a big pair of Tom Ford sunnys for added effect and enjoy this lovely sun.

Friday, for him.

Sunshine time!

Low crotch pants...again.

The sun is out, finally. I am not ill any more and the sun is shining! Yesterday I put on some shorts with a vest and took a stroll into the city and harbour to meet some friends for drinks, it was a lovely evening and made me realise my favourite summer outfit. The shorts and vest combination is simple, easy, comfortable and cool. The vest from WESC above is a personal favourite, love the purple on black. Take this top and partner it with some quality shorts, like these from Humour, and you have yourself a good look. Throw on some Sperry boaties, some Ray Ban Wayfarers and a good Diesel Belt and your ready for the streets and the sea. But just make sure the sun is shining when you wear this otherwise you will not feel as good as I did yesterday.

Jamie Nelson

Jamie Nelson

New York based fashion and beauty photographer Jamie Nelson is undoubtedly one of the biggest talents in his realm. His final pictures are second to none. Each photograph tells a story, using terrific settings, make-up and garments as the tools to do so. His work streches between the fashion industry, cosmetic industry and even film. He is a very impressive artist and one which I had to share. Find out more at his website (below).
